One of the main functions of the liver is to digest food and rid the body of toxins and unwanted waste.  Dandelion & Burdock Root tea are alternatives, diuretic, mild laxative, digestive aid, and a liver tonic that may help improve the liver by supporting its complex functionality. The bitterness of the tea is important to assist with the production of secretion, the removal of gut bacteria, and improve weakened or overstressed organs.

Ingredients

Dandelion Root, Taraxacum officinalis- Rich in Calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorous, potassium, selenium, zinc, vitamins B1, B2, B3, and C is both healing and protective while stimulating the liver. The high content of inulin makes Dandelion Root a good food source for beneficial gut bacteria.

Burdock, Arctium lappa,- Rich in carbohydrates, minerals, amino acids, calcium, inulin, iron, selenium, silicon, zinc, and vitamins. Detoxifies the body of waste products, toxins, heavy metals, purifies the blood, and restores live and gallbladder functions.

Cardamom, Elettaria cardamomum, rich in volatile oils, this herb may stimulate the digestive system to work properly. Assist with gas, diabetes, blood pressure, and cholesterol.

Preparation - For a standard decoction, scoop about 3 tablespoons of herb into a pot.  Add about 32 fluid ounces of cold water.  Simmer for about 45 minutes to an hour.  Strain herbs and pour them into a jar for cooling.  Add water to replace water lost during simmering. Pour yourself an 8oz cup and enjoy.

Disclaimers:
Consult a physician for a medical diagnosis for liver issues. Stop use if any alergic reaction develops. Not FDA approved.

**TIP**  Decoction is the best method for extracting hard roots. They are stronger in flavor and more concentrated than standard infusion teas. You can add cinnamon sticks to the simmering method to combat the strong bitterness of this formula.
